Locks dont seem to lock!
Fiddled with them a bit but nothing obvious to do,
anyone experienced this?
How does one dismantle them to see inside?
They slide up and down,
there are slots in the window frame,
but the locks are not engaging (enough?)

there's a vertical screw which you access from the bottom, iirc it's a blade type special machine screw and access is poor because of the body of the door, take a look at the exploded parts diagrams in etka/etos or online zap7
brickie sells some of the parts for the catches

Is there anything you dont know about these vans?
I will try to get it off and file or bend it to get it to lock..
the only bits that come up from Brickwerks is the whole lock,
and its a whopping £100 and neither of mine work.
There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with them.
Possibly the window doesnt slide far enough closed.
All may become clear when the screw comes off.

cant see any screw its a long way up inside
and shielded by the shape of the window surround,
almost like we should take the window frame out of the door to access it properly..
well do you mean its something like an electric screwdriver size?
shall I just poke about and try twisting?

I can see now that the catch, although it seems to be working properly,
doesnt cut into the indents in the frame, upwards.
I can get it to bite a little by pushing the glass, with the catch, upwards.
But its still not biting much.
Is the catch adjustable in any way?
Might be good to get a spare one to play with.
I havent got access to any diagrams.

Just to say, I had it wrong,
these things are mostly listed as LATCHES not catches!
Now I can find some bits listed. And a parts diagram.
I think I will try a drill driver bit held by a mole grip..
something like that.

OK so that worked, and yes my latches are ok,
but the latch base position on the window needs to be higher.
Then the latch would be able to spring up into the detents of the frame, locking it.
I could not undo the (simple) PZ screws that held the support to the backing plate through the glass.
If I had got that loose maybe there would be a bit of adjustment inside the holes.
Screws were so tight that I seem to be burring them so I stopped.
Probably well seized up, not an ideal place for impact driving?
Also if I break something I notice that Brickwerks are out of stock presently.
I'll take it to bits again tomorrow and wonder how to modify things.

latches should be at the bottom, have yours been fitted upside down , ie reversed ?

By latch base I meant the support plate and backing plate,
they are at the bottom of the window, yes,
but if they were a couple of mm higher they would actually bite the detent in the slider,
when they are springing back into place after pressing down and sliding.

Same if the glass was positioned slightly higher it would have the same effect,
perhaps the material the window slides on/in has been changed?
There is no real movement up of the glass if I try to lift it,
but enough to show me that it does get the latches to almost bite better.
I would say that the bite if I lift the glass is about 1mm.
The detents are what 5mm?

Something might be upside down but I cant see what yet!
