How does this Rock+Roll bed fit?

Post by Rtmgsn »

Believe this is from an early 81/82 camper.

Advice on fitting it correctly would be grand.
Slightly confused as to how the brackets/arms in the photo work with the frame itself?

Anyone got one/fitted one?

Thanks

So in the top picture the two arms that form an A with two l shaped plates on are the rock and roll bit. The base board bolts to one set and the back board to the other pair. As you push the A front to back the two paddles should go from in line, lay down position, to right angle ish to each other, sat upright.
The two boob shaped brackets go on the base board, when the seat is upright the base will be lower and they go inside the box. When in the lay down position they will rest on the front edge of the base box.

looks like a homebrew frame for Reimo hinges
You miss the two plywood boards of the base and the backrest

yes, but you have to figure out the position and sizes o the boards.
this is the Reimo pdf with full width sizes: https://t3-infos.de/images/Reimo_Klappsitzbank.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and this is for a narrow one:

Use cardboard. Big cardboard boxes are cheaper than any wood that size.

You only need to make 2 rectangular board, the width is simply the width between the hinges, the length of each board can be calculated by what length of bed you require minus the length of the space over the engine bay, the above dimensions are unlikely to be correct for your bed
