Rear Window Rubbers

Post by chriscburgess »

Hi,

I need to replace my rear window rubber as it leaves black stains all down the back of the tailgate and I have a small leak internally.

It is a 1984 Westie. Where can I get the best rubbers please and are there different variants depending on model year?

Also any tips on getting the rear screen out. I know how to put it in but have never taken a complete one out.
thanks
Chris

The tailgate window rubber is the same for all years, to remove the window make a cut horizontally on the outside of the rubber and tear off the outer portion, put something under the rubber so the knife doesn't cut the paint or window.

You can try cleaning the rubber with neat fairy liquid a splash of water and a washing up or nail brush, always worked for me
