Removing old overspray from rubber and plastic parts

I've got the problem of some speckled overspray on some SA mudflaps (PU rubber) and also on some rubber floor mats.
Any advice on safe removal is most welcome.

It's going to depend on the paint type.... do a test with normal paint thinners first ?
