Hi all. Been looking at refurbing/changing the front seats for a while now. Have ruled out getting them reupholstered due to cost, and covering them as they ain't that comfy on the back!

Have read on here that t4 seats with runners should go straight in and have spotted a pair. Will they sit any higher - I ask as I'm 6' 4'' and don't have much room to spare between my legs and the steering wheel! The current seats are fitted to swivel bases. I assume if I remove the driver's swivel base (don't really want to) that I may gain an inch or so?? Thanks for any info you can give.

There is a whole thread recently on the samba forums on this subject.

they need th sides of the runners trimming but if not done correctly seats can slide out in a prang so be careful

They're fabulous. I bought a pair of T4 captain's seats a few years ago, the runners had been ground already so it was just a case of sliding them in. If you can buy the T4 runners as well then no modification will be required.
