Bumper Overriders?

Post by blakeys80 »

Hello All, am I right in thinking that the Overriders I have seen on some T25s are US spec, and weren't available over here?
Also, will the late bay Overriders fit with a modification?
Thanks folks :ok

Pretty sure one of the recent VW & Camper mags had a T25 (or maybe it was a Split....can't remember) with the overriders which was a conversion from a Type 2 Bus like you said. Got to be worth having a look although i doubt the overriders are cheap. Might be worth seeing if there's an alternative that would fit.

I'm pretty sure that US spec Mk1 Golf (or Rabbit?) is what you're after. Having said that I'm also pretty sure that someone was offering to make up sets from scratch on one of the Feckbook pages - maybe Brickrats...

overrider bumpers were standard on caravelle gls which were chrome and many westies had black bumpers with the rubber strips on, brickwerks sell the strips and fittings but you need a bumper with the holes in to fit them, or you could just stick them on with Sikaflex, but be aware the bumper mounting bolts are under the strips so you will have to remove the strips if you need to remove the bumpers anytime
