Windscreen fitting cord.

Post by Titus A Duxass »

Greetings all,
I've got to fit a windscreen this weekend.
What diameter string/cord works best?
Cheers

4 or 5mm IIRC. I have seen speaker wire used before now.

Did mine with something around 3-4mm & it worked well. Get some KY jelly & smear liberally before you push it home.... Sorry, couldn't resist.

Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

I normally use 3-5mm pull start cord or paracord

Agreed for 3-5mm paracord type , doesn’t stretch as you pull.

Use washing up liquid mixed with water, if you use it neat it never dries up out the gaps. Soak the string in the soapy water.

I haven't seen a waking line in years, don't think the missus would be to pleased if I stripped her wash spider of string.
