rear seat seating

Post by tonic »

Hi. Been reading up on rear seat belts, seems if you have them use them if not it is still ok for people to travel in the rear. Does anyone have a problem of seating a minor in the rear. My van is fitted with one inertia and one lap belt should i also have a child seat as my granddaughter is only 5 years old. Can i actually buy a child seat to fit the back of the r&r seat, it is a jk one with ply over. Might it be better to fit such a seat in the front as i have a dual passenger seat. Any info gratefully received. Thanks Tony

The law says she must be in a child seat up to 12years or 120cm tall whichever is the sooner.
When you buy your seat it will specify whether it is ok for lap belts or inertia reels only.
She will be much safer in the back in the correct seat

It's 135cm in the UK, and only applies if belts are actually fitted
