T25 Towbar

Post by Burrich »

Apologies if this has been covered, I am hoping to purchase my first T25 camper 1988. But I need a tow bar fitted. Does anyone know anywhere in Kent that will be recommended by the forum? I have been quoted nearly £400 by a large company!!
Again, apologies if this has been covered.

£400 isn't tragic especially if that includes supplying the tow bar and electrics. I'd guess that is about £250 parts and £150 labour.

That said it really isn't a difficult job to do yourself. Very easy to tap the electrics from the rear light clusters and you can buy towbars that don't require you to cut the rear bumper. There are mounting points already on the van. Rear bumper off, fit towbar, wire in electrics, re-fit rear bumper! If you look on a well known auction site for VW T25 towbar you'll see some secondhand ones being sold by breakers with pics that actually show quite clearly how it fits!
