How to remove the trim under the dash?

Post by diggerdigger »

I want to check out the wiring to the stereo (it's killing the leisure battery - need to re-configiure it), and I don't fancy removing the dash, dropping the steering column , etc.

Is there a trick to removing the big plastic triangular-ish trim that's beneath the dash between the two footwells? Do you have to remove the dash first or can you just be brave and lever it off?- It's not obvious and I don't want to break any plastic clips etc.

Normally, access with dash in is mostly via the ashtray (once removed)

Excellent, thanks. It's easy when you've seen it done!

I can't quite see all the wiring through the ashtray hole, with the trim removed all is clear(ish).

That's my weekend project sorted, then.

Cheers!
