Inner sill question

Post by 100leelee »

Hi
Replaced inner and outer sill offside without much problem.
Van off the ground on 4 axle stands positioned under the chassis.
Doing the same on the sliding door side.
Again van on 4 stands.
Have removed inner and outer sill, just had a thought that should I have braced the gap of the sliding door aperture before removing the sills??
Obviously too late now, but wondered if this is necessary??
And if it was needed what now?!??
Ta

Think it’s just me being over worried..
The think floor section is still in place between b and c pillars, other side went ok..
Lots of resto photos don’t show any bridging of the gap so will just crack on..

Starting to worry about what you are doing at half midnight? Sounds familiar...

If your axle stands are well onboard, should be ok (to my novice way of thinking)
Have you ever seen an unhappy fool?

Lol

Just when one of those questions pops into your head..

Stands are as close as possible to the main chassis rails. On the outriggers..

I prefer to put the front axle stands on the main front to rear chassis rails a bit further forward, free up the area around b post incase the jacking outriggers have to be worked on or replaced.

Yes know what u mean
Checked out the state of the outriggers, will replace the last couple of inches as it connects to the outer sill area..
