Can anyone tell me the point in the louvred section at the back of the cab? Not the louvred sections at the side of engine. Thanks.

air intake for the engine, air passes down the c pillar into the horizontal box section behind the rear seats and then along the horizontal deck supports to the engine bay where it is connected to the air intake for the engine , it means that the air is dry by the time it is sucked into the engine - the rear louvres are a left over from the Aircooled , reduced in number and providing a very slight air flow through the engine bay due to negative air pressure below the vehicle
