The original colour code for your van should be in the battery box below the passenger seat, that was the colour your van left the factory with.

Methinks it's the shade of blue he's after. Not the original colour.

Could be anything, if you go to some paint suppliers or modern body shop they will scan it and it will tell you the nearest code.

I agree with dbz864.

My van is white and I knew the previous owner had it resprayed a few years back, so when I did a bit of rust repair I checked the code on the van and it was originally pastel Weiss, so I assumed that's what it was, so got the paint but pastel Weiss was nowhere near, nor any of the other VW whites, they were all too white!.. phoned the previous owner and he couldn't remember, wasn't in the folder of paperwork I got with the van and so phoned the body shop that did it originally years back but they couldn't be sure and quoted a VW white.. so took it to the body shop that the local VW dealer uses for repairs and resprays and got it scanned. Turns out to be a Chrysler white. Got some cans mixed by Halfrauds and bingo, perfect match.. now I know, I will get proper Chrysler paint next time.
