Full width Caravelle bed on the Bay

Post by tforturton »

Can't see enough of this to decide for certain whether it might a Multivan bed or not, but it's listed as a Caravelle bed, so it may well be the real thing. I know there's lots of people looking for one of these....

It's not mine - I've already got one.

Its a multivan seat bed , so not full width caravelle style, the extension brackets on the ends of the mechanism give it away.

To make it fit it will also need the pegs which go in the shell. The pegs latch into the upper part to hold it upright. The pegs screw into specific locations in the shell. If your shell hasn't got the locations you'll need them as well and get them welded into your van.

Thanks, gents - I did have my doubts, but I wasn't 100% sure.
Not such an 'easy' fit then, but it has been done before. There are a couple of odd multi van interior panels on the Bay at the moment as well, though not a full set. But if you want those as well, you'll have to be driving a LHD.

These are the bits needed -
The white pegs screw into the grey U shaped channels, and the black rubber loops go over the pegs to soften them from nocturnal head banging. In this picture the shell around the channels have been cut out for me, thus revealing where I need to get the channels welded into my factory Caravelle shell.

It ended up selling for £320, which seems a lot for a multi-van bed. But there you go....
