Hi Would like to swap out fixed windows in Devon for some that open/ slide. I ones I see advertised seem to be out of caravelles etc. How do I know what would be a straight swap or is it luck of the draw?
Van is early 1980 devon with side opening elevating roof
Any ideas /advice
Thanks John

Re: opening windows in place of fixed Devon conversion windows
Hi Thanks
measured the window opening from outside edges of rubber as window still in
1095 long 448 high 115 bottom left to top right on driverside, window behind driver. I noticed they all have a kite mark and a vw mark and number. Is this a part / size number.
Thanks

Are the windows recessed from outside, look at photos of Caravelles and Westphalia.
If not then like mine a panel conversion.

Sounds like a real factory window van, sizes and vw markings on the glass and the seat belt fixings in place. Be aware that you will need sliding windows from an early van, the sliding door window on the later van is smaller. There are clear glass and green tint glass versions. Being an early van and having both windows the same size, you can use LHD or RHD sliding windows.
