Tailgate door seal

Post by captain Byrne »

Anybody recommend a decent quality tailgate door seal at a reasonable price. Brickwerks sell good ones for £34 but are out of stock. VW Heritage have them for £55 & campervan culture for £44 but I'm not sure of the quality of either. Wasn't really wanting to pay more than £40.00. Ta.

Have you tried Alan Schofields, always recommended for seals

Cheers, that's still £50 with the discount. I think I'll hang for a £34 brickwerks one if & when they come in. I'm just getting a slight drip when it rains. Drips on my better half's head when we're asleep. Luckily it's not on my side but still, guess I'll have to fix it cos well, you know.

Not sure if this will help you, but whenever I have telephoned VW Heritage and told them the Brickwerks price they have always price matched them.

Good luck

Thanks for that. I emailed them but no reply as yet.
Just out of interest, why do you get a price match from VWH & why don't you just buy from Brickwerks?

Reminds me of the story of the two grocers shops opposite each other on the high street. During a bread strike, a customer in one shop asked for a large loaf. The grocer asked him for £1.00. "But they are only 50 pence over the road in the other shop" said the customer.
"Well go and buy off him then". Replied the grocer.
"I cant." said the customer "He's sold out"
He's cheating you then" said the grocer "When we have sold out I drop our price to 40 pence. :rollin

Or the two rival pound shops next to one another on a high street, one store was competing by lowering an item to 90p, the manager from the store next door sent someone to purchase all of the 90p items and then sold them in his store for a £1
