Seam sealant cracking

Post by 100leelee »

Hi,
Done the usual prime then seam seal.. but the seam sealant has cracked, looks dry as well.. have redone it, but will probably scrape off and reapply..
Question is why..?
Have used the sealer before on my bug with no problems, the only thing I can think of is a reaction to the spray grey primer I used..
Anyone else experienced similar??
Thanks..

We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets.

Was from wayside, used before with no problems.
I emailed them and they replied to say the most likely cause was the primer not being fully dried, not sure on that, was at least 24hrs between primer and sealant..
Oh well, scrape off, re paint and try again. Bought some tetrosyl to try as it gets good press..
Will post the results..
