Fitting window scrapers

Post by Billleivers »

Probably covered elsewhere but I'm fitting new window scrapers tomorrow. Only 3 years to get round to it!
Any tips for fitting? Is it as simple as pulling out the old ones and inserting the new?
Best with window wound down or up?
Cheers

Windows down, it'll all make sense once you pry the old ones up and out :-)

It's probably the easiest job you'll ever do - you'll be done in 10minutes and left wondering why you left it so long. Ask me how I know...

Thanks guys. Good quality product from VW Heritage (but 23 quid each?!) fitted as suggested in 10 minutes. Didn't use clips as seated perfectly without. Only one came off with the old scrapers anyway. However, then spent 45 minutes re-seating the bloody Dub Flectas so took me more or less an hour anyway!
As said, can't believe I've been looking at split and knackered scrapers for all this time!

:) Yeah they're quite pricey, but it's work noting that inners and outers are the same part so, if you want, you can swap the inner driver's side to the outer passenger side etc. As the inners tend to age less you can therefore save half the cost of a complete set
