Which window rubber - sliding door

Post by richlaz »

Hi all,

I'm looking for a replacement window rubber for my sliding door, as it's started letting a few drips in (and ruined my new plywood interior panel :x )

It's an '84 Westy (LHD - R/H sliding door) - original factory windows
Without groove for the Chrome trim - just a plain seal

I've looked on Brickwerks and CVC. Brickwerks only sell a "late" one (what's the difference?), and I couldn't find them on CVC.

Tried Chris' VW Emporium. There's one on there for sliding door glass, but says left/nearside... Is there a difference!?

Many thanks :)

You have an early style door which has the same size window as the opposite side window of the van, the non sliding door side. So you need to buy that rubber. Go back onto Brickwerks and have a look.

Many thanks for that.

Found the right one on Brickwerks... The extended description says "Early models (long door handle) also use this seal on the sliding door window." :D
