Correct shade of L90D Pastel white

So I've finally got round to getting rid of the ugly underseal from behind the rear bumper of my 1989 van, done a repair and sprayed it L90D. However, the paint I've got is nothing like the paint on my van. It's much more of a brilliant white whereas my van is a much creamier version.
Turns out there's 2 versions of L90D, an earlier one which is brilliant white and a later one (L90D R1?) which is the creamier one.
Can anyone confirm this and give me an idea of where I can get the creamier version?

Have you still got the paint code sticker on your bus? Should be under the dash on the air channel and have loads of info including paint codes. Any paint factors will be able to mix up the 2k colours for you. I think half a litre was £20 for mine a few weeks ago.
IIRC mine was Damuso White and L90 odd rings a bell. The base colour did vary occasionally and the colours available changed each year

L90D (Pastel White)
L90E (Alpine White)

Also, note that the 'sales code' for Pastel White is 'R1' , and the 'paint code' is 90D, its the same colour, with two different codes, maybe that's the source of some confusion.....

Further, I've just checked and Baxters data is from ETKA. I've dumped out a complete list of the paint and interior colour code information for 'early' and 'late' vans:

T3 colour codes 1979-1984
T3 colour codes 1985-1992

Another thought on the OP's matching issue, is he sure the paint on the van is the original paint ? Possibly the fresh paint is correct but the van has previously been repainted with an 'incorrect' colour ?

I've done various bits of welding on my pickup, which was mostly in its original L90D, I used VW rattle cans to repaint afterward, and I found the match was absolutely spot-on.

My paint factors have two L90D pastel white listed, L90D and L90D light. For my van I had to have L90D light and it was a perfect match to the original, the standard one was too cream. Never asked why there were two shades, may be it was simply to account for age related fading. My paint factors are Ketts and supply the trade and the public.
