Crazyhorse... The Transformation

Post by crazyhorse »

Well after 4 years. plenty of heartbreaks... we have decided to do up the inside of the van, In addition to getting some work done on the outside. The end result will be rollered as I dont have £4000 to do a spray job, besides I kinda like the idea of doing it myself

The plan is to do it cheap, well as cheap as possible. We have maybe £1000 to do the outside so we will see. I have £500 to do the inside.

The big work has to be the outside.

The main problems on the outside have been covered on this topic

New panels will be needed, this is the list I have made to buy from Alan Schofield
Front Door Step Repair Left 80->.
Front Door Step Repair Right 80->.
Correct Sill & Side Panel, Spot Welded. 80-92. 2
Lower Rear Corner Right 80->.
Lower Rear Corner Left 80->. 2
Lower Front Panel Repair 80->. 251-805-036

Total of £173

Now can I find a decent welder who can get this within my budget.

Inside... over the weekend I have stripped the whole thing. Previous owner has put fibreglass on (that stuff is itchy)
Do I need to take it off completely??

Would the next step now be to do the welding outside??

Once the outside is done, to insulate I was planning on putting this first

followed by a layer of this

Does this sound OK??

Inside by the fridge area I have seen some horror pics, but mine wasnt too bad. Wire brushed to metal.. One small hole. I have put some Hydrate 80 http://www.bilthamber.com/corrosion-pro ... hydrate-80" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on it then covered with electrox http://www.bilthamber.com/corrosion-pro ... s/electrox" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Should I patch it or would that be enough??
Here is the pic (obviously not the hole in the middle :rofl )

I want to also underseal the van, but will get outside done first.. but before that, can I use electrox on the trailling arms??

Any advice greatly appreciated, am I doing OK or do I need to do change something drastic.

PS Sorry about all the questions

ooo one more question, painting inside?? Cant roller that so can I just paint rustoleum on with a brush once i have keyed the surface?? Take it thats a window seals out job
