Converted Panel Van Sliding Window

Post by crazymilk »

hi there
I have a 1985 converted panel van which currently has a sliding window (opposite the sliding door) which I am looking to replace.

However I understand the conversion windows are very different and can vary quite a lot

The current sliding window is 43 cm Width (16.92 Inches ) x 108.5 cm Length (42.5 Inches) and looks like this:

What options do I have for a replacement.

Assuming that you want to change to a fixed window then any decent glazing specialist should be able to cut a piece of toughened or laminated glass to suit.

you cut laminated glass...
toughening is what you do after cutting float glass, not applicable in this instance. may seem pedantic but saves the op looking a silly with that request

Sorry this is a picture I grabbed of the net, mine is the same but cracked.

I ideally would like another sliding window rather than a fixed one. I seem companies do offer newer versions but they all seem to be for factory fitted units/sizes.

With mine you can replace the glass, the frame has screws and comes appart.

Why replace the frame if you don't have to?
