Hi there,
Just bought this off eBay, anybody have experience of fitting one, are they simply bonded in place or some kind of mechanical fixing. This one looks to have been glued on and that's it !

Re: Hightop
Im pretty sure they are just bonded on to the roof gutter...
Might be worth posting this in the bodywork section in the technical section or the campers section.
If you know Michael Ghia, he has stuck a westy high top roof onto his syncro. He doesn't come on here though.
Mine has roof braces, spanning the width of the bus but mine is a factory high top...
Is there a manufacturers mark? might be worth contacting them.
This might help also - http://archive.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic ... 40&t=41082" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Good luck!

Re: Hightop
Hiya
After a lot of reading on here and elsewhere I used Sikaflex 512 sealant to refix my hi top. I used 2 tubes and had a little left over. Very pleased with the adhesion (though not driven yet) but is fully watertight.

Hi Bene & John,
Thanks for the replies, I think Sikaflex is the stuff. There's no manufacturers marks that I can find, it's very flexible around the edges, I'm guessing I'll need to to some internal timber bracing to keep it in place while the mastic sets.

Hi Toomanytoys
That looks great, good work, did you also cut the roof opening ? If so, can you tell me how you finished the edges ?
Thanks,
Stefan

Re: Hightop
Yes.. Roof cut too.. Temprary safe fix was some panel edging as the owner was going to do the interior finish himself..

I really like that roof...
Tried to read the website on it but couldn't make it out.
Where is it from?
