Front window winder replacements - done

Post by Ralf85 »

Today at last the knackered mechanisms have been replaced. I was happy to do it with my mechanic mate Mike to oversee things, but he took over. He has 30+ years of doing this stuff - quick and pays attention to detail. All the replacement are poorly made - I know I have sourced them from all the recommended companies.

Mike took over and we re-used the old flexible plastic pipes that the mechanism runs through, cos the new rubber ones are crap and fall off. We had to heat the old pipes up in hot water to get them on - they won't be coming off in a hurry. The passenger window is a bit wobbly when winding it up, but that's because the runners on the doors do not go all the way down. Never mind. They are now working properly. I wish somebody would re-make parts like this to the original spec!
