That's a clever idea and very neatly done.
Still keen to see the belts on the r&r seat

Got out with a torch and crappy phone-camera this evening

The belts in position. The left side belt as you look at it has two tongues, so can be completely removed and withdrawn when the bed is folded down. It is however REALLY long, and so a klippit is placed on the belt to stop it withdrawing completely into the reel, and becoming terminally jammed.
https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/132616582 ... 459927192/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The top reel is for the right hand side passenger (right side of the van looking forwards) and feeds up into the loop above it, then across the luggage to the passenger's left shoulder.
The reel for the left side passenger is fitted behind the panel on its usual fitting, and is a standard rear T25 belt, the other end secured by the wheel arch.
https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/132616582 ... 542042556/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The three fittings that securevto the bodywork have spreader plates being them and are accessible behind the vent, well two of them are, the loop for the left belt is secured fairly inaccessibly behind the vent so no picture of that.

I used webbing fastened receptors, but if I was doing it again I would go for flexible stalks maybe as less likely to slip down between the cushions. I could probably have used longer webbing receptors as well, but was anxious to keep the hard buckle away from soft tissue where it could do damage in a crash.

I don't think I'm the first to use this solution, and I probably copied it from someone on here. Others have fed the strap from the right side mounting through a slot in the cupboard.

Custom belt was from http://www.seatbeltservices.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and cost £60.
The left hand belt was similar to the seat belt kit rear supplied by brickworks, but I think I got the JK one and made my own bracket from some thick plate.

Hi

We are the Manufacturers of the T25 that Les posted a link to in the 1st post. We are always working on ways to improve the safety of our beds. We are now adding 3 extra rear support bars as standard. If there are any suggestions your input would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

We are putting 3 vertical bars on the back rest of the seat to give added ridgidity as well as welding an additional bar to each of the seat belt mount points so that the mounting points are connected to the bed at both bottom & top. Hope that makes sense, I'm not very good at explaining things.

sort off, be good if you could put up a picky from the side showing the seat upright and also collapsed,, are you having the inertia reels mounted to the vans floor, and the belts then coming up behind the backrest, its hard to see really and as you say hard to describe hence pickies

Hi

We've just finished our 1st model of our amended T25 3/4. Just thought I'd upload a few pics. We've put a vertical bar on the centre of the backrest that ads added ridgity to the top seat belt mounting points. We've also connected the bottom seat belt mounting points at both ends. Let us know what you think.

Many thanks

youve look to have made a really nice r&r seat, but could you do a picky .side profile with the belts fitted clearly showing mounting points and especialy the shoulder belt and its relation to the occupant,(height of shoulder above seat back etc)
also could you detail the "pull test" and under what criteria its made

Don't think he comes on often Mike, but I spoke to him the other day and he's a decent chap who I'm sure would talk welding with you. After the chat he convinced me to buy one.....so watch this space

Hi Mike

Sorry for not getting back sooner. We haven't got any T25's in at the moment as we make to order. We are due to produce some this week so I will upload some pics for you. Our T25 hasn't been pull tested but we use the same steel that we use for our pull tested T5 models. Feel free to give us a call on 01909 506 641 if you want to have a chat or if your passing, your more than welcome to come and have a look.

Cheers

Having built my own from scratch in the past, I can say the back presents a great deal of thought and can see why the top is braced. The real challenge is making something thats strong enough but doesn't weigh a ton.

Yes its not the weight or such but the method of the shoulder belt run ,and whilst appreciate no t25 in , but info on the pull test methods to say a t4 it is a rather critical item so the more detail the better
