Fitting a high top to a tin top

Post by skint-van-man »

Hi folks,

I have been Umming and Ahhing about fitting a pop-top or high top to my T25 which is currently a tin top. I've spend a fortune on the van including a full respray, engine, etc etc etc so I'm committed to keeping it!

We use it for 10 day trips to UK and France and always come back with a crippled back and have decided to do something about it!

I know the debate between pop-top and high top is never ending but i think we would prefer a high top for the extra storage.

SO...

How would i go about fitting a high top to my Tin Top?

Obviously cut a chuffing big hole in the roof but what sort of extra support or strengthening is required? We wont be using the top as a bed for now as its just the two of us!

I'm off to look at a van that has a leisure drive high roof fitted that is being broken for spares.

Thanks for the help in advance. :-)
