Gutter Trim Strips - refitting

Post by garyd »

Hi,
after having the black channel trim strips off the gutters of my van for, probably, two years or more, I am now looking at refitting them.

I seem to recall that there was a black 'mastic' material under them when they came off - presumably some form of adhesive. Can anyone suggest a tried and tested product for this purpose, please?

thanks
Garyd

Sikaflex should do the job.

Or you could try using black windscreen sealing mastic as it's non setting and inexpensive compared to Sikaflex. Wear vinyl gloves and clean up with white spirit as it stains your fingers. As I discovered...

BTW: When I did mine, much of it broke off  1 found that Mk1 Renault Trafic gutter trim was almost an exact match as V.W s is n.l.a, courtesy via a breakers yard. :ok
