Sliding door problem

Hi All
I had my van resprayed last October. They've done a lovely job of it, but I'm now having some problems with my sliding door as they had removed it and put it back not quite as it was before.
It opens and closes fine, but the inside handle doesn't spring back like it used to, and without pushing it back to the vertical position, the door won't close.
The other thing is that the door doesn't stay open anymore. It used to click at the max open point and then to close it, either the outside or inside handle was flicked.
I think both are related, but haven't a clue how to fix. I've looked in the Wiki and googled, but not found any instructions.
The guy that did the re-spray isn't around, so can't get him to look at it either.
Can anyone help?
