Replacing sliding door glass and seal

Post by Hoopy_Frood »

Hello.
I have been looking on the fourm and in the Hanyes/Bentley for decent guidance on how to fit the window rubbers and glass to my replacement sliding door, but have admitted defeat and need the sage advice of the fourm.

I got the door, glass and rubber seal as an wee extra from the guy I bought the van off - it's taken me 18months to get round to fitting it and while I have managed to fit the door, I need some advice for the glass.

My forum digging has brought to light the problem with different rubbers. I've no idea where the one I have came from, but it's uncut and not a terribly good fit on the glass (slightly too big).

I've read the instructions on the forum and the rubber metal mickey uses/recommends would seem to be the thing to get. What I'm not sure about is where to put sealant (if any) when fitting the rubber. Also, if the rubber metal mickey suggests is cut, how do you seal up the gap?

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks in advance for any help.
