So the little plastic spout on 1Y Vacuum pump was missing/broke when i got it. The one from my old KY was still good so i tried to swap the covers, but they were a different shape.
So I thought I would paint some hammerite on the old pump and install it on the 1Y, but they are a bit different (see pictures). Seems to fit well, but there is definitely a gap at the sides.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Cheers.

Re: Vacuum Pumps KY to 1Y Compatable?
I had exactly the same problem. Yes they are different. The tube which has broken off incorporates a non-return valve, so I welded a short length of steel tube onto the lid, then used a short length of rubber vacuum tube and a generic non-return valve for a T2 (From just Kampers actually). It has worked perfectly ever since and is still on there 30K miles later. Just one point though. Welding will probably distort the lid a fraction, so it can be lapped flat on a sheet of emery on a flat surface.
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.

Genius, thanks Colin.
It's a shame the old one won't work, it looks good now that I've painted it
