Engine mount removal

Post by MagicWagon »

I need to replace the engine mounts on my 1983 2.0 Air cooled CU engine.
From this diagram, I know I need to undo the nuts/bolts marked 2 + 4 to release the mounting bar from the van, but to release it from the engine, do I
- Undo nuts marked 14, leaving the engine bracket on the engine, or
- Undo bolts marked 6 and 7, and remove the bracket from the engine with the mounting bar.

You need to remove/pull back the fan housing to reach the mounting bolt in the carrier.
