2 years down the line and I finally replaced the dizzy and coil with a Powerspark SVDA 034 kit from Simonbbc.
the drive dogs on my old one were worn and sloppy.
Nice steady timing now. no flat spots and acceleration is much smoother. idle is less lumpy.
If you're doing this:
unplug the ignition amplifier, the 034 doesnt need it.
unplug the old dizzy 3 wire connector, 034 doesnt need that either.
Black wires from the loom and red wire from the dizzy go to +ve of the coil.
Green wires from the loom and black wire from the dizzy go to -ve of the coil.
You need to extend the black and red wires, they don't reach the coil, so it's worth doing this on the bench first.
The new dizzy needs a good shove to get the o'ring into the case so lube it up and be careful to get the dizzy right down in to the case and be sure the drive dogs are lined up correctly. tap it in, don't hammer it in or you could damage the dogs.
