Hand brake warning lamp

Post by jas915 »

Hi mine doesn't work. I had a quick look at the buld in the dash and seems fine along with the conections.went to the hand brake lever and there is a switch but no wire attached? I assume that can't be right? It's weird as I'm sure it did work,I have removed the dash recently to do heater motor so maybe something a miss with putting it all back.
Any ideas ?

Hi,
You’re right, there must be a wire on the switch at the lever. It switches earth to the bulb.
Could have slipped under the carpet.
If you have seen the light working it might be due to it’s double purpose for the hand brake and the low brake fluid warning.

Weird machines these T25's. My drivers door switched interior light hasn't worked since 2006 under the "Round To It" scheme but suddenly burst into action recently. :?

I will have to have a look for the mistry missing wire. I'm sure is was all working fine previous to the dash removal so not sure what's happen to the wire.hopfuly it's just so how got under the flooring. I do now actually remember the top cover ( just above where the plug goes in) bit of the brake fluid resevouir cap getting caught and poping off during dash removal so maybe this is broken too.
I will investigate more when time alows this week.

Update. Found the green wire and reconnected it to the switch on the handbrake now the light works.i assume the wire got caught and pulled off when removing the dash.
Thanks for all the help

Quick question on this, there are two brake warning lights on the dash. Which one is the handbrake one, top or bottom. Mine has no wiring from the switch and I want to connect up. Photo taken of another van, neither of my warning lights have the markings shown on this one.
