Solex, worth rebuilding?

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Solex, worth rebuilding?

Post by rodp »

The 1982 1.9df T25 I bought for my daughter is pouring fuel out of the carb (Solex 34 PICT-5), looks like the accelerator pump at a glance. It's been more or less stood for three years so could be corrosion around spindles etc as well.
Probably best to just replace it with new, or at least a very good used carb. Any suggestions as to what carb and where from? Any info appreciated.

Yep stick with the original. Can always be refurbed. Only things that really wear are the throttle spindles and the float valve which can be replaced.
