Turbo reconditioning kits 1.6 td JX

Post by Troopy »

Does anyone know whether these are any good?

The guy who works on my van for me suspects that a seal is leaking on mine and pulling in oil which may be why Troopy smokes so much.

I have rung a coupe of turbo companies and for replacing the bearings and seals it is around £220-250 but I have seen seal and bearing kits much cheaper online.

Does anyone know of any good ones and whether it is a job for the faint-hearted or can give me a guesstimate about how much I should pay for a used one?

Thanks in advance

Hi mate done mine 18 months ago but started to smoke again now only on startup and a bit of oil on the outside of the turbo but not enough to drip on the floor
