Hi guys,
I was looking for my engine number its a 2.1 Petro water-cooled 86 engine I believe
I checked at the bottom of the oil stack but it only has 1102 but not which model it is
Cheers in advance as I'm sure one of you will know

Out of curiosity do the VW recon numbers mean anything or is it just a unique string of numbers.

week and year, on these I believe Polish built, engines from the late nineties/noughties, usually stamped either side of the VW recycle symbol that 458 is probably week 45 1998, so 1102 week 11 2002

Mine appears to be a VW rebuild from May 2002, but has German heads on it.
