Popping out of 4th Gear

HELP NEEDED!
Driving home after an hours drive just before i got home van jumped out of 4th gear and then again just before i got home. Its never done this before today.

81 Westy with AAZ engine and 4 speed DK gearbox.

Had hoped it is linkage or front mount. waiting for rain to stop to get underneath. Front mount looks OK and solid still.

rear linkages are still in place visualy look ok, removed the linkage from the gearbox both rubber gaiters need replaces the gearbox selector with two nylon balls are worn.

Before i rush out and try find a box i,m going to replace some of the linkage components to see if its related to that.
Is there a sequence to replace to try find this issue or is there anything else i should look at.

What other gearbox's could be used with minimal modification.
Is this box worth being re-built i plan to keep the van so looking at a bit of longevity.

replace all the linkage components first, and change your oil if it persists your fourth gear is probably knackered from not changing down on hills other codes are here http://vwt3.com/t3-tech/t3-data/t3-gearbox-codes/ but the page has one or two mistakes so dont take it as gospel
