No longer running slightly hot

Post by T25Convert »

The van has always run slightly hot since I got it.

A range of improvements have been made (new dalek cap, minor leak fixed, lean condition sorted, new radiator, new working thermostat, repeated bleeding) and each have made some small improvement.

However, I have just replaced the fan belt and it now runs significantly cooler at all times. Old one looked fine and was tensioned as it should be, however I can only assume it was slipping slightly.

So for those who note that their cooling system seems to be 100% spot on, but for some reason still runs slightly warm then it might just be worth looking at the fan belt again, even if a cursory inspection suggests it looks fine. Maybe just swap it for the spare one (you do have a spare one right  )

Thanks for the advice. Mine runs slightly over where the light is on the temp display and doesn't budge. Where was yours?
