Jx1. 6 water level

Post by mrdp »

Hi all, maybe a silly question but just checking van over and observed that with the main coolant bottle cap off (the full one) the level is full. When I rev the engine this drops down the bottle and when the revs idle again it returns to full. Does that sound OK???

Take the dalek cap off rev the engine high, keep the revs up and the level should drop. Whilst still revving top up to the brim, put cap back on, let revs drop. Shouldn't do it after that.
Mine doesn't do it!

It will do it with the cap off (which is what the OP says he had when observed) but you’re right when full and the cap is on you shouldn’t see it drop.
