Top up tank to expansion tank hose

Post by T25Convert »

Late 1.9DG - what is the hose diameter that goes from the expansion tank cap to the top up tank?

Vans not near enough to measure it - looked like 8mm ish as I remember. Could anyone confirm so I can order a bit of hose please?!

Looks like 7mm but I think 8mm is fine

cap measures just under 8mm on the parallel section but thee is the sealing rib which is bigger than 8mm

Funny enough I asked exactly the same a couple of days ago. Got some 8mm coolant hose, I think it could do with being 7mm. The new hose was really thick???. Turned out being a leak from the bleed ring hose which goes to lpg reducer, I think its also 7mm

Cheers all.

Weird that Sir Brixalot's post has wandered off, but I do feel vindicated that it wasn't just me being crap at using the search function!

Yeah, and I was going to tease you about that too.

I searched on hose, pipe, coolant, water, expansion, brixalot and a few other things before I became convinced the post was a premonition

Actually, while we're on the subject - Is the hose to the bleed ring 7mm? Ordered some, just hoping it's not as thick as the last stuff

Where on the bleed ring ?
The coolantpipes to the vaporiser if it’s a Onvl R90 is 16mm id iirc .
That won’t be a standard pipe I suspect, depends who did the conversion and how

Above the top up tank. There is a hose reducer into the 16mm to the R90e

Yes that's it. 7mm went on without any bother. I'll keep the 8mm handy incase the 7mm proves to be too tight. The brace on my leg has been unlocked so I'll be able to take the van out for a spin for the first time in 8 weeks.
