LPG poor cold running

Post by kevtherev »

This has started happening recently.
Started with a bit of lurching but has got worse.
When the engine is cold I have poor intermittent acceleration.
Like a misfire.
Then after 8 - 10 mins it stops and runs normally.

Ok on petrol.

Could do with some help as to the cause.
Cheers.

Sounds like the vapouriser to me, if it's been on 13 years it may need servicing

This one by chance?

I've never seen that document - good find. It's for an earlier version of the R90e OMVL unit, favoured by Gasure and myself for many years, but should be virtually identical in principle.

Mine is about the same vintage as yours Kev. Steve said it was probably time mine was changed as it was screwed all the way out or in (I can't remember which). Is it a DIY bolt-on job which I can then get the mixture set up at an LPG garage?

fitting it is relatively easy but it's gas work so most garages won't want to know ( due to liability insurance ) I suspect and most garages won't have a clue how to set up up.

I'd try and repair for the greater good of knoledge
you can always buy new if it doesn't go well.
Tinley tech do them.

Might be worth checking if the repair kit is genuine OMVL, lots of very poor quality rubber products from the far east which could explain the high birth rate

I have recently had my reducer replaced as it was leaking coolant. Tiny tech recommended buying a replacement rather than repair because the repair could be fairly difficult and might not be successful and would probably take longer that fitting a replacement reducer. This would be less of a consideration if you were carrying out the work yourself.

Since having the repair carried the van isn't running as smoothly on LPG I think this is because the garage that fitted the reducer didn't set it up correctly, I will be taking it somewhere else to get it setup correctly.

I was wondering what timing people use for 1.9dg when running both LPG and petrol?
