Replacement Turbo options.

Post by rob1927 »

Hello all. I’ve currently got the manifold and turbo off my JX as the van failed it’s mot with a heavily blowing exhaust at the manifold and the down pipe dropped off. So it’s new exhaust time. The turbo kkk 14(it’s definitly kkk and I’m sure the number is 14) is well tired now, it’s been throwing oil out for ages so the seals need to be done. And if the seals are being done it might as well be rebuilt, my question is going off a worse case senario what kind of money are people paying for turbos to be completely refurbished?
Would it work out cheaper to trade it in for one that’s been rebuilt?
Or bite the bullet and shell out for a brand spanker that would hopefully last many years.

Also would the turbo from a jx work with an aaz?(a possible consideration for an alternative engine in two or three years time if the jx lasts that long!)

Cheers,

Rob.
