Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Is there any difference between auto carb

Post by Sir Brixalot »

Whilst I'm stuck in I'd like to fully rebuild a carb. Autos never turn up online- is that because autos use a standard 2e3?

I think autos have the 2e4 which is a 2e3 with some extra electrical gubbins to compensate for the auto idle in drive adding load.

might be wrong google 2e4

I'll have a look. Pretty sure I've got a 2e3 on it now.

Nope. Standard 2e3, with slightly different jetting and throttle linkage.
It's possible the 2e4 is only fitted to autos that have PAS or a/c? But we rarely see those in Britain.

I fitted a manual Carb on my auto

an ex Bromyard fettled job I bought here.

runs perfectly.

Use the auto throttle rod
and use the outer choke cover off the auto (the wet bit)

no issues at all.

Just emailed Bromyard. Might go for it instead of doing it again myself

Does anyone know what the jetting is for the auto?
I'm going to rebuild a spare carb and while I'm at it I'd like to fit the correct jets.

Jetting is the same as the manual

Smaller accelerator pump quantity is i think the only difference

Which you can set with the adjuster
