Need new engine

Post by biker1981 »

Hi

Unfortunately My engine 1.6 d CS went bang and I need a new one. I would like to put something in bigger eventually but for the speed of getting back on the road I want an easy swap so I don't miss the summer

I have been offered 1.6td JX - my question is will this fit straight in or is there additional work to be done please ?

Any help appreciated

depends how complete an installation it is and what year your van is I'd say; you could maybe de-rate it to cs spec and use all your existing pump, injectors and inlet and exhaust system, but I don't know how different the compression ratio and pistons are between the cs and jx
hopefully someone who really knows about the diesels will post up

if you want the absolute easiest and quickest replacement, go for a 1Y or AEF 1.9 n/a diesel

it's simply a bolt on replacement/upgrade.

As soon as you start putting turbo's in the mix you need to think about cooling and intake/exhaust manifolds/brackets/filters etc....
