Van starts easy when cold however when it has warmed it has trouble re-starting up, the starter motor turns the engine no problem it does start eventually
But now i am a bit concerned its not going start up at all when i stop for fuel in the future
Any advice would be appreciated

Re: Trouble starting when hot
Have you tried presssing the accelerator pedal down when cranking the engine until it fires?

Re: Trouble starting when hot
I have the same will it, won't it moments when starting from hot.
Normally ok after filling up with fuel, but leave it for a bit longer and it will spin over well but will not fire, eventually it will fire and run ok.
Often thought it is the fuel evaporating due to the heat of the engine bay and taking a while to get back into the carbs.
Let's us know how you get on, I will try the foot to the floor technique and see how it goes but I think I have tried it before without

To what end? What purpose would a relay serve? You say that the engine spins over well on the starter.

The handbook tells you to do this when hot starting (an air-cooled).tobydog wrote:Have you tried presssing the accelerator pedal down when cranking the engine until it fires?

Re: Trouble starting when hot
Could be fuel evaporating from the carb if its just turning over but not firing up. Check the carb float for signs of heat damage.

Re: Trouble starting when hot
Hot start procedure on Aircooled is hold the accelerator flat to the floor when you turn the key. Had the RAC out the other week in the same circumstances, on my second trip out in the van. it was like magic, just fired up after refusing to start for me.
