Yes ,it meets the vw spec ,dexron 3 (III)
I am running this
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ATF-Dexron-3 ... 3021742176" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or simply
Ebay item no 303021742176
10 LTRS ! for £34 delivered
In order to not waste the oil i strongly suggest changing the autobox filter and sump gasket (Brickwerks hold stock) before the oil change. The difference is remarkable once done ,but getting all oil out is slow,but can be speeded up by removing box sump, place a large old washing bowl under to catch oil remove spark plugs and spin motor over on starter in 20 second bursts,resting for a minute between,this method also empties out the torque converter which can hold up to 2 litres of old oil otherwise left in there.refilling is easier,once filter changed ,new gasket (narrow line of sealant both sides) fitted and all tight,pour in 2 litres down dipstick tube using a funnel ,spin over motor ,(with all spark plugs out),add another litre, fit plugs /leads,and start engine ,top up to halfway on stick when warmed up after a mile or two drive.check level for first few drives as it will require a splash to get to correct level ,read stick when gearbox is warm but not running.

This is great! Many thanks! Engine is out and oil drained from box. Will remove sump and refill when engine back in!

Thanks for this. Engine is out so final drive is about to be refilled. In terms of ATF fluid, I have removed torque converter and siphoned out oil. Will I still need to refill, drain and refill again?
