Split in Coolant Level Sensor

Post by drumsofdoom »

Hello everybody,

check out my coolant level sensor! No wonder it was leaking.

If you have a pool of coolant around the sensor be sure to check the unit itself, not just the o-ring.

BW replacement: https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/coolant-le ... ip-on.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

£30 plus P&P, not the end of the world. A minor inconvenience.

Hope you all had/are having a happy weekend working on your vans.

I had to change mine as well only to discover a barely discernible crack in the threaded part of the tank which I assumed opened when the sensor was tightened. Then again yonks later when water leaked up one of the terminal posts of the new sensor which the supplier replaced straight away. Just bad luck I guess :roll: .

I will have to change my sensor as well as It leaks as well. I already have the replacement here with me, I will check the old ones for cracks once done.
