Water leak - What pipe is this?
The jubilee clip has broken, but access to get closer is difficult (as van lowered), until I get underneath and jack it up I can't tell if the pipe has split the other side?
What pipe is this? if it's split does the whole pipe have to be replaced?

Doesn't look like the clip has broken but it looks as though the hose has split at some point and has been joined badly with undersized joiner. The clips wouldn't need to be tightened into the rubber that much if a larger joiner had been used. Basically a botch job!

Ok thanks, not sure who done this previously, I'll add that to the forthcoming service!
I suppose the pipe has to be replaced, what part is this?

Re: Water leak - What pipe is this?
Haven't a clue on those funny engines, last petrol VW engine I touched was around 1974!
To me it looks as though a newer piece has been added at the high point and it is a slightly larger size than the lower portion. I would hazard a guess that it is one of the cab heater pipes.

Re: Water leak - What pipe is this?
rubbed through on driveshaft been joined
have the same on my van
got a bit of 20mm od stainless pipe in mine but I think the ID is 16mm, for heater hose measure the diameter of that bit of pipe joining the hose, it maybe somebody used a bit of steel pipe as a joiner and it's rusted through.
strange I can't see the heater pipe for sale anywhere?

What infection message are you getting? I can't find anything there.

Re: Water leak - What pipe is this?
According to Brickwerks -
"Silicone hose repair section for the heater connections on T3 Diesel and WBX petrol models.
Allows you to repair the end section without having to replace the whole length.
Reduces from 25mm where it joins the head down to 16mm to attach to the existing pipe."
So 16mm is correct - it looks as though someone has used 25mm all the way in the pic.

Re: Water leak - What pipe is this?
Look at the top piece - the hose is thicker and is splayed out where it has had to be overtightened to get it clamped on the pipe. Yours doesn't show any sign of that.

Re: Water leak - What pipe is this?
Has your van got or used to have a rear heater matrix/fan unit under the rear seat. If so is this a tee joint for that? Perhaps leaking from a 3rd pipe ,out of view.

Re: Water leak - What pipe is this?
The tee- piece for the rear heater is closer to the floor, it isn't in the wheel arch area.

it does look like a T joint, though not as far as I know my van had that set up
I'll have to get this checked over re the pipe, certainly doesn't look correct.
