speedo grease cap

hi everyone just bought a speedo grease cap and cannot get it to go on,even with a wack with a hammer,any ideas :?: are their different sizes :ok
its better to burn out than to fade away 1.9 dg petrol transporter1988

Never had a problem fitting them.Where did you buy it?

new ones are b tight, warm it up first, say on top of a hot radiator

Surely put in freezer - mine are internal rather than external. Or are there two types?

Fit over the stub I recall, with a lip to prise them off?

mine are internal too

never seen an external fit grease cap on a VW (they may well exist)

I fitted a new one from Brickwerks at the weekend, it was a good fit, went on with a few knocks of the plastic mallet.
