Good luck with it Stu - look forward to seeing the thread.

There's no better satisfaction knowing that you've got the old girl back on the road through your own hard work and (hopefully!) have saved a few pennies in the meantime. :ok

Thanks Andrew/Justin,
Im not particularly mechanically minded so will be coming on here asking numpty like questions a plenty. But with this forums' support and advice l feel fairly confident; as we used to say at work......you have only failed if you dont have a go.....
I wont be doing a comprehensive photo thread as there are plenty of great rebuild threads already on forum. Stayed up til 3am reading many. Mostly coming back here with key points. Or when uncertain of condition of internal parts etc.
Ive also found a local company which may well be useful to me. Especially for cleaning cases and crank refurb

And a quick look through the parts department in the loft. Got a full gasket set with head jacket seals somewhere?

If you are not mechanically minded why have you got that lot.

I suspect you are underestimating yourself, all it takes is the desire to do it and the capacity to learn, helps if you are not butter fingered also

...because he read your thread last year about what spares you should carry in the van :rofl

Do some pictures in a thread Stu, it'll be easier for others to give you advice based on what they see

I agree, people see things in pics that you can never describe, take the bearing above you thought was worn, the picture tells me that's normal.

It is not the end. It may not even the beginning of the end. But perhaps it is the end of the beginning.

Guess who?

Found in loft...yeeeeha!
